Been a long time.. my friend!

Wow, time does fly! I can't believe that it has been months since i last blogged about clip art! I don't have a real excuse as to why this is the case! I LOVE art and i LOVE creating art but I have been in a bit of a non-creative slump!
The first day of snow was a few days ago and the first real snowfall was yesterday. I was going to take my car out but quickly parked it again when my tires spun just when i pulled out on the street. Visions of getting stuck on the street and flagging down a stranger didn't at all sound like a good time!
Christmas is not that far away and it feels like it was just here! I spent it last year with my parents and sister. Unfortunately, my parents moved to B.C. so I won't be seeing them this year for the holiday. However, my sister lives here so we will go out for Christmas dinner somewhere yummy like the Olive Garden or Swiss Chalet.
If you are also already thinking of Christmas ( hard not to when all the stores are already becoming full of decortations and toys... I'm talking to YOU Costco..)
You can find hundreds of Christmas Clip Art at http://www.clipsahoy.com/christmas.htm.
I will add a few more cute cliparts in the next few weeks, maybe that will help to get me back on track!
Have a good week!

Full Swing Summer!

Father's Day is just around the bend !
I like to make a homemade card with clipart. To add an extra touch, what i have done in the past is create wrapping paper for a small gift with clipart. Just use color paper and just your simple word or works program, and insert many cliparts as you like on that page you are going to print.

Print out your creation and you will be able to wrap a small item. You can even do this if in a pinch for other wrapping paper! I usually only have Christmas wrapping paper so i have wrapped gifts for other holidays like this from time to time!

Summer is also now i full swing. I spent all of yesterday outside in my small yard planting flowers! Then i came inside and ate ALOT of watermelon!

Hope you all are enjoying your sunny days!

Mother's Day!

Mother's Day is approaching and is in less in three days!
While I may not be a mother in the 'traditional' sense.. i am mommy to four wonderfully, sneaky cats!
From personal experience , with my own mom, homemade cards mean just as much if not more, than a store bought card.

You will be able to find clipart image to create your card here . You will be able to find all types generic images from balloons to champagne to more mother's day specific clipart.

Serve up a homemade card with breakfast in bed to your mom and spend a relaxing day together!

What alittle paint can do!

How to Revive Old Hardware on a Door

Things You’ll Need
Spray Paint
Disposable Gloves
Old Newspaper
Screw Driver
Ventilation
A Friend

When you purchase a home and want to make it your own, there are some expenses that you will have dig deep in your pockets for and others you can tackle on your own. One little project that can make a big impact is changing the color of your door hardware and knob. Something as simple as this can make a big impact while keeping your costs low.
Instructions
1. Have a look at the different colors of spray paints at the store. Pick out the color that you feel comfortable in refinishing your door hinges and knob. If you are a bit zany, pick up a non conventional color such as a blue or green, even a florescent would make a nice pop of color. If you are more traditional stick with a metallic paint color in silver or gold.

2. Remove the hinges and knob from the door with a screwdriver. You may need an extra set of hand to help you hold the door as you unhinge it.

3. Lay your old newspaper out somewhere where you spray, you won’t be near anything you don’t want painted! Make sure there is some good ventilation since spray paint has strong fumes. Clean off the hinges and knob with soap and water to make sure there is no dust or anything else you don’t want under the paint.

4. Put on your disposable gloves and when you are ready, lay the pieces down and spray evenly back and forth. The paint should dry quickly so you will be about to do two coats on each side. Don’t rush or else you may spray too much and cause some drips to form. If this ends up happening, you can remove your previous coat of paint by re-spraying and wiping it down quickly while it is still wet. As for the screws, you can just make sure to spray to tops as the rest of screw you won’t see.

5. When you achieve the desired look, reattach the door and knob and see it all sparkle like new!

Now that Valentine's Day is behind us, we can begin to look towards March. The most celebrated holiday in March is Saint Patrick's Day!

Wearing the color green was the most important part of St Patrick's Day when growing up. If you forgot, someone would pinch you so you would even try to find a bit of green anywhere you could!
The elusive leprechaun is also a magical part of the holiday.
I personally love leprechauns! They are always happy and can slide down a rainbow like it's no ones business !

So, for what ever project you are working on, we have the clipart for you. Take a look through the Saint Patrick's Day clipart section and i hope you find what you need!

Valentine's Day is approaching and we all could send out a little bit of love! I hope you someone special in your life that you would like to show how much you care!
One of the more affordable why of going about this is to incorporate clipart into homemade projects.

Valentine's Day Card

There are many free resources online to help you create and customize cards for Valentine's Day and all other occasions. One site that i like is http://www.photo-card-maker.com/ It is a free program that you download that has many different card templetes. If you have already photoshop, another useful site is http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/photoshop/ss/greetingcard.htm to create custom cards. Once you find a program you like, insert the clipart into it to make your own one of a kind card!

Coupon Book

This is an easy one to create. You dont need any special program. Just use your word program. Come up with and type out, a few fun actions for Valentine's Day. An example could be 'Coupon for 5 Free Kisses'. Type that out in small or big font and add your favorite sweet puckers clipart beside it! Give this to the one you love and it will make their day!

Place Setting

Are you a romantic? Using a basic word program again, type your loves name and add a sweet clipart image beside it. Print this out and fold it beside your partners table setting.

Little gesture like these never go unnoticed!
