The other day my sister who lives in Edmonton was telling me about a cute surprise outside of her place! As she was leaving her home, a bunny came flopping out from a big snow pile in her parking lot! She said it looked like he stayed in there for the winter, like a little winter cave :) so cute! I have just reached my 6000th created clipart image for Clips Ahoy! I love creating clipart more today than i had when i drew my first clipart.
When i first created my first 500 cliparts, I colored them and then scanned them. It was then i realized that they looked alot different on the computer than it did on my sketch pad. I then had to recolor them online. That ended up being a lot of work but, i learned alot from trial and error !
I hope you all enjoy your day, i know i am.. it is warm outside and it is finally nice to sleep with my window open!

The Magic that is Clipart!

Clipart is simple and can make you feel a wide range of emotions.
These little icons can be found in numerous places during our everyday life. Just the other day I was contemplating what to eat when I strolled past a restaurant with its menu on the door. I stopped and looked because the tiny little images beside the menu items caught my eye.
First thoughts?
Yummy!
The toast clipart looked tasty with its tiny melted butter and the club sandwich was tantalizing with its lush green lettuce and ripe red tomatoes every so slightly sticking out between two slices of bread with perfectly placed toothpick sticking out from the middle. Oh! And I can’t forget to mention the delicious pickle on the side!
Clipart shows up almost all ordinary places during your day, starting when you wake up.
The Newspaper
Full of clipart, pulling your eyes to the latest bargain or sale. Look at Me! Buy Me! The clipart portrays.
Drive to Work
You pass billboards on the way to work. You look twice because a bright image caught your eye.
At Work
You sit in during a co-workers presentation on how to make the company run more efficiency. They use a clipart to demonstrate a few key points. You almost nod off but fortunately the clipart keeps you interested.
At Lunch
Your new favorite coffee shop has a clipart images integrated into its name and you notice the same image on their recyclable coffee cups.
On The Way Home
You pass a co-worker in the hall; they show you their new business card with a professional clipart image beside their name. It looks great and you think about doing the same.

Clipart is all around us but it is so common that sometimes we don’t even notice how often we see these images.
Home Uses For Clipart
Clipart is ideal for home based projects. These are a few examples of projects that I used clipart for or have known someone who has.
Garden Labels – I have printed out clipart for my garden and laminated the new ‘labels’. For my carrots I printed out a cute clipart of carrots and typed “Carrots’ under the clipart image. This can be done for all your garden vegetables and used year after year.
Holiday & Birthday Cards- I have created cards for all occasions using seasonal clipart. This is easy to do when you use a simple card-creating program that you can purchase for your home computer. The program allows you to insert your choice clipart into the card.
Web Pages- Clipart and web pages go hand in hand. Almost every site uses clipart on its home page. I have use clipart on my personal web pages to make the page more interesting and eye catching… plus clipart can be cute and silly and I like that.
Calendars- A relative used clipart to create a personalized calendar for their family. If their son had hockey on one day, they used hockey skates clipart to portray the events of that day.

Clipart is fantastic and fun! Everyone should enjoy a little bit of clipart everyday in their lives!

Free Stuff!

How to Get Free Stuff Online
Coupon Crazy!
I remember when I was a little girl my mom use to bring her purse to the grocery store with a stack of coupons bulging from her wallet. There was no Internet back then and all the coupons were from the newspaper and weekly flyers. Today, the Internet has made life easier in catching that obscure bargain. Many freebie sites will give you great links to companies that offer these coupons.
Sign Me Up.. Scottie?
If you sign your ‘e-mail life away’ can pretty much get any freebie you like. Once a company has your email address, they will send you updates for more sample products and offers. Just be aware of companies that ask any money to be sent. This falls into the category of a ‘scam’. A freebie is a freebie.
Swap Till You Drop!
There are sites that give a platform for those who wish to swap their items with others who have items of similar value. It’s a win win for both if you find something that is swappable. Check out http://www.swaptreasures.com/. This site gives you a good idea as to what is involved in swapping like valued items.
Bookmark Your Favorites
If you find a freebies site that stops that your mouse clicking finger in its place, bookmark it! You might need to get back to that page during a tight spending month or if you are just jonesing for a good deal.

Seriously… Lets Get Started.
Look around your computer desk. You will need these few items before you start online bargain hunting!

a) Printer -hooked up ready to print at any given notice. This printer should have a green light on it (not flashing but solid, ready to take action when needed)
b) Ink in the Printer and Paper - is the ink fresh in your printer or are you not sure?? Check it out! Also, make sure your paper supply is full.
c) Scissors - handy to snip out that coupon that will save you a few of your hard earn dollars!

Now you are ready to look for the best sites to find freebies. Many sites out there offer freebies for almost everything. Some of those sites are small and some are larger. I will look at which sites offer the best and most up to date freebies. The freebie site that I will be profiling today is http://www.worldwidefreebies.com.
Pros:
Easy to Find Main Categories.

The categories are right away on your left hand side of the page. I picked ‘Birthday Freebies’ link to check out what I can get free on my birthday. Once I clicked on that link, I scrolled down and easily found the birthday freebies links. Lots of Choice. In each main category there are a large list of freebies. It is all alphabetically listed and are items that I find interesting. For example, in the ‘Pet goodies’ category I found a sample for cat food. However, the freebie had expired and I was unable to sign up to receive the coupon (see ‘cons’ below).
Location Listed
Beside each freebie it states in parentheses whether the coupon is accepted in Canada or the United States. This is always good to know since this takes the confusion out of where the offer is worth checking out.
Cons:
Lots of Scrolling

The page is not layed out well for the average Internet user. I had to scroll down on each page to find the list of freebies after I clicked on the main category.
Ended Contests & Broken links
Unfortunately, some of the links that I clicked on were already expired and a found one that was a broken link altogether.
All in all a good freebie site but I know there are bigger and better ones out there waiting for me to discover and share!
